Goals

As professional instructors, our goal is to teach you how to kitesurf in the safest possible way, tailoring your lessons to your personal learning curve. We know that everybody wants to be able to start riding as soon as possible. We promise we will do our best to make it happen!

Conditions

The safe and easy conditions of Punta Trettu will make for a faster, safer and more enjoyable learning experience. The total absence of swimmers, the sandy beach and the shallow, flat water will make your learning process considerably more efficient and enjoyable. During the initial learning phase, you will be able to learn body-dragging techniques as well as attempting the first water starts in total tranquility. You will have a chance to rest whenever you need it, without having to waste precious energy just to stay afloat as it is necessary in deep waters.

Kite courses by boat will be held in an area in front of the spot, where the water is deeper.

In the event of an unfavorable forecast, the school may move to other spots in the area in order to carry out all courses. Distances will be a maximum of one-hour drive from our center.

Learning curves

We all have different learning curves, which depend on various factors such as: our age, the sports we have been practicing in the past and our current physical and psychological condition. Generally, our IKO and FIV instructors are able to get students, unfamiliar with sailing or with board sports in general, to learn to ride the first few meters on the board in about 8-10 hours. People who are already familiar with sports such as snowboarding, windsurfing, wake-boarding or skateboarding (all of which are board sports with a sideways stance as opposed to a frontal one) will definitely have an advantage and they might be able to start riding after completing just 6 hours of kiting lessons.

Suggestions

We always recommend the use of sunscreen and sunglasses!

We strongly discourage people from learning how to kitesurf on their own. Kitesurfing can become a high-risk activity if you don’t know what you’re doing, and self-learning is generally not worth the risk. If a kite flies out of control due to lack of experience, it may become extremely dangerous to you and to the people around you. Equipment may also get damaged. We also do not recommend taking any type of course in which you are being offered one instructor for more than two students (IKO regulations require a Level 1 instructor to have no more than two students with a maximum of one kite flying).

Membership

In order to partecipate in any activity offered by Kite Village Sardinia, it is mandatory to become a member.

The price of membership is 15,00€ for the UISP card and 55,00€ for the FIV card, includes liability insurance (designed to offer specific protection against third-party insurance claims).
